Here is a little article that outlines some safety measures for keeping a firearm in the house.

So no "assault rifles" were used in the Tragic shooting in CT, and the shooter was not able to purchase an "assault rifle" because of laws on the books already. But this comes out AFTER they are banned in some states and EO's are signed to restrict the purchase of them.
So, people are trying to restrict something that wasn't used in the shooting. Lets ban all bicycles to prevent drunk driving. Here's an idea lets look at government spending instead.
At 10 a.m. today (1/15/13) Gov. Andrew Cuomo will gavel in the session of the New York Senate where the Second amendment right and safety and security of all the residents of New York state will be forever trampled on by their elected Representatives.
Cumo has no concept of the "law of DUH!", They believes his bill "Is well-balanced, it protects the Second Amendment," only because "there is no confiscation of weapons" Said Senate Republican leader Dean Skelos of Long Island.
The bill is called "Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act" Its a 67 page assault on the freedoms of the law abiding citizens of New York.
We do know that owning a magazine that holds more than *7* rounds not the previous 10 will be a misdemeanor after the one year "sell off" time where you can sell it out of state. Also failing to safely secure your "assault" weapon will also result in a misdemeanor charge. This brings up the question if they truly believe that the "high capacity" magazines are the real problem then why are they wanting their citizens to "sell" them? Doesn't this place others in the country in danger by allowing these "mass killing devices" to be sold unregulated on the internet to someone with a mental disorder? Again this isn't about the gun its about control.
Chicago's Police Chief Garry McCarthy stated on a Radio interview with WVON 1690AM.
“I don’t care if they’re licensed legal firearms, people who are not highly trained… putting guns in their hands is a recipe for disaster. So I’ll train our officers that there is a concealed carry law, but when somebody turns with a firearm in their hand the officer does not have an obligation to wait to get shot to return fire and we’re going to have tragedies as a result of that. I’m telling you right up front.”
This comes from a man that has had more american deaths in a major metropolitan city in 2012 then the US Military has had in a WAR ZONE! What does this say of failed policies, where something has failed so bad you are more likely to be killed in your own city then in a war zone.
This is the same Idiot that stated, “When people say concealed carry, I say Trayvon Martin,” “Because the answer to guns is not more guns, and just simply putting guns in people’s hands is going to lead to more tragedy.”
I'm not sure how this would fare in my house, but they are pretty cool. The wife might just have a heart attack seeing this hanging down at eye level.
Anyway go check them out and buy one today.
Here is a recent interview from a survivor of a mass shooting.
Long time no talk. Its time to awaken the gun rights supporters and be ever vigilant in educating thoes around us on the facts behind gun control.
Stay true to the course and don't stop the debate. We have too much at stake, our freedoms and liberties.
Just in case you didn't know that the second amendment is collapsing around us today. Dicks' sporting goods, Cheaperthandirt, and WalMart has pulled all their "Modern Sporting Rifles" from their shelves....
CTD has released the Following:
Cheaper Than Dirt! is suspending online sales of firearms effective immediately.
We are reviewing our policy internally, and will continue to be the leader in the outdoor industry with our full line of gear and accessories.

Looking at their facebook page many of us are being vocal about our disdain for this "knee jerk reaction"
